When you're rushing to a party, you can panic about not having enough time to get ready or you can have a beauty game plan. This is mine: If you're going strapless, backless, or mini, your skin becomes really important. Blend liquid highlighter on your collarbones, then go ahead and skin some over your cheekbones.
Go for bright lips, but not a color so high-maintance that you're touching up after every cocktail. I use a red or pink pencil to fill in my lips and then top it with a matching tinted balm. The combination lasts longer than lipstick alone but looks just as donee. And when it comes to your nails, go bold. Eleven months out of the year, I'm a nude manicure girl. but during the holidays, I like them a little longer, oval, and crazy sexy. That means a dark-red polish so glossy that it looks almost wet.

RGB Nail Polish in Oxblood
WHAT IT IS: A dark-red nail polish that's free of toluene, formaldehyde, DBP, camphor, and formaldehyde resin.
WHY WE LIKE IT: Back in fall 2012, when it was the trendiest color in fashion, there seemed to be a little confusion about what oxblood looked like. Well, this cream polish can serve as the official reference: More brown than burgundy, more navy than wine, this sophisticated, glossy dark red will never go out of style. Unlike many deep shades, this delivers perfect saturation with just two coats.
Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair Eye
WHAT IT IS: An anti-aging eye cream
WHAT IT DOES: Moisturizes delicate eye skin and helps it repair itself from environmental assaults while you sleep.
KEY INGREDIENTS: Hyaluronic acid (moisturizes); alkyl guanine transferase (helps repair skin damage)
HOW IT LOOKS/FEELS/SMELLS: More of a gel than a cream, this faintly taupe-colored formula goes on incredibly smoothly with no perceptible scent and dries to a soft, velvety finish.
WHY WE LIKE IT: The folks at Estee Lauder have clearly put years of blood, sweat, and research into optimizing their Advanced Night Repair line to boost skin cells' own natural repair mechanisms that kick in overnight. Which is why we feel a little guilty reporting that we really like using this in the morning. The creamy gel glides on so effortlessly that ir feels more like a primer than an anti-ager and it also proves to be an excellent base for the concealer we use to cover up our industrial-grade dark circles.
PRICE: $62.00/1 Ounces AND $92.00/ 1.7 Ounces
Burberry Beauty Fresh Glow Luminous Fluid Base in Nude Radiance
WHAT IT IS: A lightweight aluminizing lotion that delivers significant shimmer.
HOW IT LOOKS/FEELS: This champagne-colored fluid is super lightweight and has the slightest cooling effect on the skin.
WHY WE LIKE IT: Since it looks like the world's prettiest foundation (right down to the sqaure pump bottle), the first time we used it, we applied it lightly over our entire face. Yeah, unless you are going for a Tin Man look, don[t do that. It's perfect as a lumber, but we found it a bit too shimmery to use even as a primer. However, mix a pea-size squirt into your regular base and then you actually will have the prettiest foundation you can imagine - glow-y and soft and eye-catching(in a good way). You can also dab it over your cheekbones and brow bones for a more targeted highlight or even smooth it over your clavicle or any other spots that you want to have a sexy sheen.
Butter London Lippy Tinted Balmin Strawberry Fields
WHAT IT IS: A medium-coverage tinted lip balm in ten shades.
HOW IT LOOKS/FEELS: It has the slip of a balm, but not the shine of one. And there's none of the greasiness that makes many tinted balms slide off in a matter of minutes - just a velvet finish that's much more sophisticated. It also melts into your lips, instead of sitting on top like a lot of balms do.
WHY WE LIKE IT: What's the difference between lipstick and a tinted lip balm? That question has gotten harder to answer thanks to Butter London's version of the latter. These moisturizing bullets deliver significant pigment but go on smooth and surprisingly matte. With the darker shades(we especially love Strawberry Field), the tint lasts several hours and fades evenly into what looks like a lip stain. Another welcome surprised: Two of the shades (Toasted Marshmallow and Nutter) might just provide the perfect flattering nude lip - one or the other worked for basically every editor who tried it.
Crabtree & Evelyn Ultra-Moisturizing Hand Therapy in Verbena and Lavender and La Source
WHAT IT IS: A rich hand cream available in powerful scents.
WHAT IT DOES: Softens and hydrates dry hands and cuticles.
KEY INGREDIENTS:Macadamia nut oil and shea butter (moisturize); myrrh(conditions cuticles)
HOW IT LOOKS/FEELS/SMELLS: Pretty much all hand lotions promise to absorb quickly and leave behind no sticky residue; this creamy white formula definitely delivers. What is left behind? A seriously intense scent that lingers for hours, not minutes.
WHYWE LIKE IT: Our relationship with hand cream is on-again, off-again at the best of times - we usually buy a tube, apply zealously for about three days, and then forget all about it, Not this one. Despite a history of gravitating toward fragrance-free hand moisturizers, we found ourselves reapplying just to get a hit of the zingy Verbena and Lavender or mysteriously marine La Source. If you're a big perfume user, there's a chance this cream would make for one whacked-out scentapalooza if added to your mix. If not, this might be the fragrance equivalent of a gateway drug.
PRICE: $8.00 for 25 grams and $20.00 for 100 grams.
