Hello everyone, I was one of the lucky individuals to receive this Influenster VOXBOX. It was for the Maybelline Super Stay Better Skin Foundation. I was sent shade 25 Nude Beige. The shade I received was definitely to light for me. But I continued using it because I couldn't find a darker shade near me in order to do the 3 week challenge. None the less, I was super excited to receive it.
My initial impression of this foundation was, I liked the packaging. I prefer a glass bottle whenever I have my foundation out on my vanity displayed. Something about this packaging just brought me back to the first time I purchased a foundation. There is no fragrance to it either. That is a huge plus for me as I do not like heavy fragrances. This foundation is available in 8 shades. Of the shades, I believe Natural Beige would have been a better match.
The claims of this foundation are as follows:
To give an all-day flawless coverage.
To give better-looking skin in a 3 week usage.
To reduces the appearance of spots, bumps, dullness and redness.
To give you a smoother, brighter and more even skin.
To be long-wearing.
I have to agree with all of the above claims. I have very dry sensitive skin. Therefore, I am very hesitant to try products. The foundation itself has great coverage. The coverage is from medium (1 layer) to full (2 layers). I found that it applies best with a brush on my skin as oppose to a sponge. The foundation lasted all day on me. There wasn't any fading or rubbing off at all. I purposely didn't set it with a spray or use a face primer during this 3 week challenge.
I found that my face did look natural and that was great. I don't want to look like a cake face. LOL! I got many compliments when I wore it too. It feels very light weight on the skin as well.
However, as the days went on I did notice that there were days when my skin looked really dry. It was most noticeable in my drier areas, like my forehead and nose.
Overall, I think this is a great foundation if you have normal, combo or oily skin. My dry sensitive skin didn't react well with it. Proceed with caution if you have my skin type. I did get a few breakouts on my left cheek. I continued using it none the less. I really wanted to see my end results. The price point on this foundation is between $8.99-15.99. It depends where you purchase it. The great thing is that Maybelline currently(at the time of this post), has a $2.00 off coupon on their website.
I really hope I touched all the necessary points on my review of this foundation. Again, I want to thank Influenster and Maybelline for sending me this foundation. Eva
